This guide details how to set up emergency announcement extensions and a call-to-cancel extension for use with Emergency Alerts in an Algo 8301. In the setup detailed below, when the announcement extension is dialed, the audio alert is played until the call-to-cancel extension is dialed.  

Enabling Multicast Mode:

  1. Log in to the 8301's web interface. 
  2. Click Basic Settings> Multicast.
  3. Ensure that Multicast Mode is set to Transmitter (sender).
  4. Ensure that the Multicast type is set to Polycom Group Page.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page. 

Uploading Audio File:

  1. Log in to the 8301's web interface. 
  2. Click System > File Manager
  3. Select the Tone file and upload the desired audio file.

Adding an Announcement Extension

  1. Create a new Generic SIP extension in your NocTel account with a dialable extension number and note the SIP Credentials.
  2. Log in to the 8301's web interface. 
  3. Click Additional Features > Emergency Alerts
  4. Set the following settings:
    1. Announcement Duration: Play Until Cancelled
    2. Announcement Selection Mode: Direct Extensions
    3. Answer Inbound Call: Enabled

  5. For Announcement enter the following for Announcement 1:
    1. Announcement 1: Enabled
    2. Extension: SIP User ID
    3. Authentication ID: SIP User ID
    4. Authentication Password: SIP Password
    5. Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement: select a tone/recorded you have uploaded
    6. Multicast Polycom Group: The NocTel Polycom paging group number you want the announcement to be sent on. 
  6. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Adding a Call to Cancel Extension

  1. Create a new Generic SIP extension in your NocTel account with a dialable extension number and note the SIP Credentials.
  2. Log in to the 8301's web interface. 
  3. Click Additional Features > Emergency Alerts
  4. For the Call-to-Cancel sections, enter the following:
    1. Extension: SIP User ID
    2. Authentication ID: SIP User ID
    3. Authentication Password: SIP Password

  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
